(Instead of off-the-rack in the store or from a fitting cart)
We are all unique. Like our fingerprints, nobody swings exactly the same. When you buy clubs off-the-rack you are buying a "one-club-fits-all" set. With out doubt you can play golf with the clubs but they are not built to fit your own technique. Take a look next time you go to the driving range and confirm that no two golfers are the same. We all have different swing speeds, swing plane, transition and release to name a few. Each of these characteristics can be measured or recorded. A clubmaker has the skills to select what are the optimum specifications that suit an individuals characteristics.

A professional clubmaker, is an equipment expert. He is constantly updating his skills and expertise, he is more than aware of the latest technology in shafts, grips and heads. He knows how to take a swing characteristic and convert that into a recomendation for a particular shaft etc..

We can all afford the services of a Professional Clubmaker! Even though you receive individual attention from an equipment specialist who understands your individual needs, custom fitted clubs are in most cases no more expensive than clubs bought from the various golf outlets.

The Golf Diagnosticks Studio holds membership of the Professional Clubmakers Society (PCS), the Golf Clubmakers Association (GCA) and the Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals (AGCP). These are the leading oqganisations for clubmaking and clubfitting in the world. These affiliations are what separates the amateurs from the professionals.
We will spend all the time needed in a fitting session with a golfer to determine the exact specifications needed for his/her equipment. A thorough fitting session will cover: A player evaluation and interview to determine what you want to improve in your game; A thorough examination of the golfer's current equipment; An opportunity for the clubmaker to view the golfer's technique, set-up, ball flight, etc.; Analysis of swing speed, transition, release and launch angle assist the professional to make final recomendations. We may recommend that adjustments be made to current equipment rather than purchasing new equipment. With proper tools, off-the-rack sets can be retrofitted to work better for the golfer. This can include loft and lie adjustments coupled with changes in swingweight, it could also be a new shaft suited to the golfers swing action.

A true professional takes great pride in his work. He is always there for his clients to make whatever adjustments they require. We maintain a record of all our clients specifications making it easy to replace a broken shaft to the exact specs for the individual.
